Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the Sky is cleft asunder; 1 And the stars dispersed, 2 and when the seas burst beyond their bounds, 3 and when the graves are overturned 4 everyone shall know all his deeds, both the earlier and the later. 5 O human! What has deceived you concerning your Generous Lord 6 Who created you, then made you complete, then made you symmetrical? 7 in whatever form He pleased? 8 Nay! but you give the lie to the judgment day, 9 Yet over you there are watchers, 10 noble scribes, 11 who know of all that you do. 12 Indeed, the righteous will be in pleasure, 13 And indeed, the wicked will be in Hellfire. 14 [a fire] which they shall enter on Judgment Day, 15 and from which they will find no escape. 16 They will never be able to escape from it. Would that you knew what the Day of Judgment is! 17 Then, what can make you know what is the Day of Recompense? 18 A day when no soul shall possess aught to succour another soul; that day the Command shall belong unto God. 19
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
