Jinns (Al-Jinn)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Say, (O Prophet), it was revealed to me that a band of jinn attentively listened to (the recitation of the Qur'an) and then (went back to their people) and said: “We have indeed heard a wonderful Qur'an" 1 It guides to the right course, and we have believed in it. And we will never associate with our Lord anyone. 2 Exalted is the glory of our Lord; He has neither wife nor son. 3 'And that the foolish among us [i.e. Iblis (Satan) or the polytheists amongst the jinns] used to utter against Allah that which was wrong and not right. 4 and that “we had thought that men and jinn would never speak a lie about Allah”, 5 And there were men from mankind who sought refuge in men from the jinn, so they [only] increased them in burden. 6 'And they (came to) think as ye thought, that Allah would not raise up any one (to Judgment). 7 "'And [so it happened] that we reached out towards heaven: but we found it filled with mighty guards and flames, 8 notwithstanding that we were established in positions [which we had thought well-suited] to listening to [whatever secrets might be in] it: and anyone who now [or ever] tries to listen will [likewise] find a flame lying in wait for him! 9 And we know not whether harm is boded unto all who are in the earth, or whether their Lord intendeth guidance for them. 10 And that some of us are good and others of us are below that: we are sects following different ways: 11 'And we think that we cannot escape (from the punishment of) Allah in the earth, nor can we escape (from the punishment) by flight. 12 And when we heard the guidance, we believed in it. And whoever believes in his Lord will not fear deprivation or burden. 13 And that some of us are those who submit, and some of us are the deviators; so whoever submits, these aim at the right way: 14 However, the deviators from the Truth will be the fuel for hell". 15 (Say): "If they keep to the right path We shall give them water in abundance to drink 16 So that We might try them with respect to it; and whoever turns aside from the reminder of his Lord, He will make him enter into an afflicting chastisement: 17 and that “mosques belong to Allah, so do not invoke anyone with Him”; 18 ‘And that when Allah’s bondman stood up to worship Him, the jinns had almost crowded upon him.’” 19
