The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
46 verses, revealed in Mecca after The News (Al-Naba') before Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By [the winds] that pluck out vehemently 1 and move [in their orbits] with steady motion, 2 and float [through space] with floating serene, 3 And those who race each other in a race 4 And those who arrange [each] matter, 5 One Day everything that can be in commotion will be in violent commotion, 6 And the following event will come after it. 7 Hearts that Day will be in agitation; 8 and their eyes shall be humbled. 9 They say, "What? shall we be brought back to life, 10 What! when we are rotten bones? 11 [And] they add, "That, then, would be a return with loss!" 12 But it will be only a single blow, 13 and behold, they are awakened. 14 Has the story of Moses come to you 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 and directed him: “Go to Pharaoh, he has rebelled, 17 and say: "Will you purify yourself, 18 Do you want me to guide you to your Lord, so that you should fear Him?'" 19 And he showed him the tremendous token. 20 But (Pharaoh) rejected it and disobeyed (guidance); 21 Further, he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). 22 And assembled (his council) and proclaimed, 23 And he said: I am your Lord, most high. 24 Thereupon Allah seized him for the chastisement of the World to Come as well as of the present. 25 Lo! herein is indeed a lesson for him who feareth. 26
