The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
(On the day) when the sun is made to cease shining, 1 And when the stars shall fall; 2 and when the mountains are made to vanish, 3 when the pregnant camels shall be neglected, 4 the wild beasts are herded together, 5 And when the seas shall become as blazing Fire or shall overflow; 6 And when the souls are paired. 7 questions are asked about the baby girls buried alive, 8 for what sin she was killed, 9 And when the pages are laid open, 10 when heaven is stripped, 11 And when Hell-fire shall be kindled to fierce ablaze. 12 And when Paradise shall be brought near, 13 [then] each soul shall know what it has put forward. 14 So, I call the receding stars to witness, 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 and the night that falls, 17 and brightening morning, 18 Verily it is a Word brought by a messenger honoured, 19 Full of power, well-established (in position) with the Lord and Master of the Throne, 20 obeyed, moreover trusty. 21 For, this fellow-man of yours is not a madman: 22 He certainly saw him (Gabriel) high up on the horizon in his original form 23 he is not grudging of the Unseen. 24 nor is it a word of an accursed Satan. 25 Then where are you going? 26 It is not except a reminder to the worlds 27 to everyone of you who wills to walk a straight way. 28 And what will you wish, except if Allah wills – the Lord of the Creation. 29
