Surely the people of al-Hijr also rejected the Messengers, calling them liars. 80 for We did vouchsafe them Our messages, but they obstinately turned their backs upon them 81 And they used to carve dwellings in the hills, without fear. 82 But the Shout seized them in the morning, 83 that they earned did not avail them. 84 We have created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, for a genuine purpose. The Day of Judgment will certainly approach, so (Muhammad) forgive them graciously. 85 Surely your Lord is the All Knowing Creator! 86 And certainly We have given you seven of the oft-repeated (verses) and the grand Quran. 87 Do not yearn for other people's property and wives and do not grieve (that they do not believe). Be kind to the believers. 88 And say: "I am indeed a plain warner." 89 even as We had sent warning to those who had divided their religion into fragments; 90 those who had split up their Qur'an into pieces. 91 by your Lord, We shall question them all 92 concerning what they have been doing. 93 So declare to them what We have enjoined, and turn away from idolaters. 94 Truly! We will suffice you against the scoffers. 95 even against those who set up with God another god. Certainly they will soon know! 96 We do indeed know how your heart is distressed at what they say. 97 Glorify and praise your Lord and be with those who prostrate themselves before God. 98 and worship your Lord until what is certain [death] comes to you. 99
