Has the story of Abraham's honoured guests come to you? 24 When they came to him, they said: "Peace." He answered: "Peace." They were a people he did not recognise. 25 Then he turned away privately unto his household, and brought a calf fatted. 26 and laid it before them, saying: “Will you not eat?” 27 He felt afraid of them; but they said: "Have no fear," and gave him the good news of a wise son. 28 So hearing his wife went forth shouting. She struck her face and exclaimed: “A barren old woman am I.” 29 'Such, says your Lord' they replied: 'He is the Wise, the Knower' 30 ۞ He said: What is your affair then, O apostles! 31 They said: Lo! we are sent unto a guilty folk, 32 to bring down upon them showers of marked lumps of clayy. 33 Marked by thy Lord for (the destruction of) the wanton. 34 We saved all the faithful in the town. 35 But We did not find therein save a (single) house of those who submitted (the Muslims). 36 And We left there a Sign for such as fear the Grievous Penalty. 37 And also in Moses, when We sent him unto Pharaoh, with a clear authority, 38 But he turned away with his supporters and said," A magician or a madman." 39 Then We seized him and his army and cast them all into the sea: he himself [Pharaoh] was to blame. 40 And also in Ad, when We loosed against them the withering wind 41 Which turned everything it touched to ashes. 42 And in the Thamud (was another Sign): Behold, they were told, "Enjoy (your brief day) for a little while!" 43 But in their pride they turn away from the commandment of their Lord and the thunderbolt struck them whilst they were looking; 44 And neither stand up nor defend themselves. 45 [We destroyed] the people of Noah before them. They were certainly a sinful people. 46
