Have you [Prophet] considered the man who turned away, 33 And gave little, and then stopped? 34 Has he knowledge of the unseen, so that he sees? 35 Has not he been informed of the contents of the Book of Moses 36 and Abraham, who paid his debt in full? 37 To wit, that a burthened soul shall not bear the burthen of another. 38 and that man shall have nothing but what he has striven for, 39 He will certainly see the result of his labor 40 then he shall be recompensed for it with the fullest recompense, 41 And that unto thy Lord is the goal. 42 And that it is He (Allah) Who makes (whom He wills) laugh, and makes (whom He wills) weep; 43 and that it is He who makes to die, and that makes to live, 44 And that He createth the two spouses, the male and the female, 45 From a drop of liquid, when it is added? 46 And that on Him is the bringing forth a second time; 47 And that it is He Who enricheth and preserveth property. 48 It is He who is the Lord of Sirius. 49 And that He destroyed the former 'A-ad. 50 Thamud, 51 and the people of Noah; they were the most unjust and rebellious people. 52 It is He who turned upside down the people of Lot 53 So there covered them that which did cover (i.e. torment with stones). 54 Which of your Lord's benefits will you then dispute about? 55 This [Prophet] is a warner like the former warners. 56 What is to come is imminent. 57 No (soul) but Allah can lay it bare. 58 Marvel ye then at this statement, 59 Will you laugh at it rather than weep? 60 And you are lost in play! 61 Prostrate yourselves before God, and worship Him alone! ۩ 62
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
