The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By the night when it envelopeth, 1 and the day in splendour 2 and by the creation of the male and the female. 3 Verily, [O men,] you aim at most divergent ends! 4 As for him who gave out his wealth (for Allah's sake) and abstained (from disobeying Him), 5 And believeth in goodness; 6 Surely We will ease his way unto the state of ease. 7 As for him who was a miser and behaved with aversion (to Allah), 8 and cries lies to the reward most fair, 9 Surely We will ease his way unto adversity. 10 His riches will not save him when he perisheth. 11 Surely Ours is it to show the way, 12 And indeed the Hereafter and this world both belong to Us. 13 Therefore I have warned you of a Fire blazing fiercely (Hell); 14 None shall reach it but those most unfortunate ones 15 Who denied (the truth) and turned away. 16 For, distant from it shall remain he who is truly conscious of God: 17 Those who spend their wealth for increase in self-purification, 18 They do not expect any reward 19 But only seeking the countenance of his Lord, Most High. 20 And he is going to be satisfied. 21
Almighty Allah's Truth.
