Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ The Inevitable Reality - 1 What is the Indubitable? 2 And what would make you realize what the sure calamity is! 3 The Thamud and the Ad denied the (possibility of a) sudden calamity, calling it false. 4 Then as to Samood, they were destroyed by an excessively severe punishment. 5 And the 'Ad were destroyed by the furious cold blast of roaring wind 6 which He willed against them for seven nights and eight days without cease, so that in the end thou couldst see those people laid low [in death,] as though they were so many [uprooted] trunks of hollow palm trees: 7 and dost thou now see any remnant of them? 8 Then came the Pharaoh, and those before him whose habitations were overthrown while they were committing crimes. 9 They defied their Lord's messenger, so He seized them with an ever-tightening grip. 10 Lo! when the waters rose, We carried you upon the ship 11 as a lesson for you, but only attentive ears will retain it. 12 So when the Trumpet is blown with a single blast 13 And the earth and the mountains shall be borne and the twain shall be crushed with a single crash. 14 on that Day shall that indubitable event come to pass; 15 And the heaven will split [open], for that Day it is infirm. 16 And the angels will be on its sides; and on that day, eight angels will carry the Throne of your Lord above them. 17 On that Day you shall be exposed, and no secret of yours will remain hidden. 18 Then as for him who is given his book in his right hand, he shall say, 'Here, take and read my book! 19 Surely I knew that I should have to meet my reckoning. 20 He is therefore in the desired serenity. 21 in an exalted garden 22 The fruit clusters of which are hanging down. 23 "Eat ye and drink ye, with full satisfaction; because of the (good) that ye sent before you, in the days that are gone!" 24 But he who is given his record in his left hand will say, "If only I had never been given my Record 25 And had not known what is my account. 26 Would it had been the end! 27 “My wealth did not in the least benefit me.” 28 “All my power has vanished.” 29 Lay hold of him and chain him; 30 Then in the Scorch roast him 31 “Then bind him inside a chain which is seventy arm-lengths.” 32 for, behold, he did not believe in God, the Tremendous, 33 "And would not encourage the feeding of the indigent! 34 That is why he has no friend today, 35 Nor any food save filthy corruption. 36 that none excepting the sinners eat.' 37
