(Remember) Noah, when he cried (to Us) aforetime: We listened to his (prayer) and delivered him and his family from great distress. 76 We helped him against people who rejected Our Signs: truly they were a people given to Evil: so We drowned them (in the Flood) all together. 77 And David and Solomon, when they gave judgment concerning the field, when people's sheep had strayed and browsed therein by night; and We were witnesses to their judgment. 78 And We explained the case to Sulaiman; and to both We gave the kingdom and knowledge; and subjected the hills to proclaim the Purity along with Dawud, and (also subjected) the birds; and these were Our works. 79 We taught him the art of making coats of mail for you, to protect you in battle. Will you then give thanks? 80 To Solomon the raging wind ran at his command to the land which We had blessed. We have knowledge of all things. 81 And many of the devils (We also made obedient to him) who dived for him, and did many other things; and We kept watch over them. 82 ۞ We bestowed (the same wisdom, judgement and knowledge) upon Job. Recall, when he cried to his Lord: "Behold, disease has struck me and You are the Most Merciful of those that are merciful." 83 We heard his prayer and relieved his suffering, We restored to him his family, doubling their number as an act of Our grace, and as a reminder for the worshippers. 84 Remember Ishmael and Idris and Dhul Kifl: they were all patient and steadfast. 85 We admitted them to Our mercy. They were all righteous men. 86 Remember the man in the whale [Jonah] when he went away in anger, thinking We had no power over him. But he cried out in the darkness, "There is no deity but You. Glory be to You! I was indeed wrong." 87 And so We responded unto him and delivered him from [his] distress: for thus do We deliver all who have faith. 88 Remember Zachariah, when he called out to his Lord, "Do not leave me heirless Lord, You are the best of heirs." 89 Then We heard his prayer, and bestowed upon him John, and adjusted his wife (to bear a child) for him. Lo! they used to vie one with the other in good deeds, and they cried unto Us in longing and in fear, and were submissive unto Us. 90 And (remember) she who guarded her chastity [Virgin Maryam (Mary)], We breathed into (the sleeves of) her (shirt or garment) [through Our Ruh - Jibrael (Gabriel)], and We made her and her son ['Iesa (Jesus)] a sign for Al-'Alamin (the mankind and jinns). 91 Surely this Islam is your religion, one religion (only), and I am your Lord, therefore serve Me. 92 But they (the Christians and Jews) split their affair between them all shall return to Us. 93
