The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the heaven is split asunder 1 And it hearkeneth to its Lord, and is duteous. 2 and when the earth is leveled, 3 and throws out of itself all that it contains 4 obeying its Lord, as it must do! 5 O thou man! Verily thou art ever toiling on towards thy Lord- painfully toiling,- but thou shalt meet Him. 6 Then he who is given his Record in his right hand, 7 He will be judged with an easy account 8 and will return rejoicing to his family. 9 But as for he who is given his record behind his back, 10 He will cry out for destruction 11 But will be roasted in the fire. 12 He used to be happy with his own people; 13 Never thinking he will return. 14 Yes indeed; his Lord had sight of him. 15 No! I swear by the twilight 16 And by oath of the night and all that gathers in it. 17 And the moon when it grows full, 18 You shall certainly travel from stage to stage (in this life and in the Hereafter). 19 What then is the matter with them, that they believe not?- 20 and when the Koran is recited to them they do not bow? ۩ 21 In fact the disbelievers keep denying. 22 and Allah knows very well what they gather. 23 So give them tidings of a painful punishment, 24 Save those who believe and do good works, for theirs is a reward unfailing. 25
