The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
I swear by the mansions of the stars, 1 And the promised day, 2 And the bearer of witness and those against whom the witness is borne. 3 Woe to the makers of the pit (of fire), 4 the fire abounding in fuel, 5 while they themselves sat around it 6 and were witnessing what they did to the believers. 7 The only reason for which they tormented the believers was the latter's belief in God, the Majestic, and Praiseworthy. 8 to whom belongs the Kingdom of the heavens and earth. And Allah is the Witness of all things. 9 Indeed, those who have tortured the believing men and believing women and then have not repented will have the punishment of Hell, and they will have the punishment of the Burning Fire. 10 Surely (as for) those who believe and do good, they shall have gardens beneath which rivers flow, that is the great achievement. 11 The vengeance of God is terribly severe. 12 It is He Who creates from the very beginning, and He can restore (life). 13 And He is the Fogiving, the Loving, 14 The Lord of the glorious Throne, 15 The great doer of what He will. 16 HAS IT ever come within thy ken, the story of the [sinful] hosts 17 Of Pharaoh and the Thamud? 18 And yet, they who are bent on denying the truth persist in giving it the lie: 19 But Allah doth encompass them from behind! 20 Nay! This is a Glorious Quran, 21 [Inscribed] in a Preserved Slate. 22
