(Moses) said: "O my Lord! expand me my breast; 25 and make my task easy for me, 26 and loosen the knot from my tongue 27 That they may understand my speech. 28 “And appoint for me a viceroy from among my family.” 29 “That is Haroon, my brother.” 30 Increase through him my strength 31 and let him share my task, 32 "That we may celebrate Thy praise without stint, 33 And remember You much. 34 You are Well Aware of our situation." 35 (Allah) said: "Granted is thy prayer, O Moses!" 36 We have again bestowed Our favour upon you. 37 When We inspired to your mother what We inspired, 38 saying: "Put him in the box and cast it into the river. The river will cast him on to the bank, and he shall be taken up by an enemy of Mine and an enemy of his." I lavished My Love on you, and to be formed in My Sight. 39 Recall when your sister walked along and said, "Shall I guide you to one who will take care of him?" Thus We returned you to your mother, so that her eyes might be cooled and that she might not grieve. And you killed a man and We delivered you from sorrow. We tested you with various trials. You stayed for a number of years among the people of Midian, then you came upto the standard, Moses. 40 I have chosen you for Myself. 41 "Go with your brother. Take My miracles and do not be reluctant in preaching My message. 42 Go both of you to Pharaoh, for he has transgressed all bounds, 43 “And speak to him courteously, that perhaps he may ponder or have some fear.” 44 They said, "Our Lord, indeed we are afraid that he will hasten [punishment] against us or that he will transgress." 45 [Allah] said, "Fear not. Indeed, I am with you both; I hear and I see. 46 Go, then; you two unto him and say, 'Behold, we are apostles sent by thy Sustainer: let, then, the children of Israel go with us, and cause them not to suffer [any longer]. We have now come unto thee with a message from thy Sustainer; and [know that His] peace shall be [only] on those who follow [His] guidance: 47 Indeed, it has been revealed to us that the punishment will be upon whoever denies and turns away.' " 48 (Pharaoh) said: Who then is the Lord of you twain, O Moses? 49 He said: Our Lord is He Who gave to everything its creation, then guided it (to its goal). 50 He (Pharaoh) asked: 'How was it then, with the former generations' 51 [Moses] answered: "Knowledge thereof rests with my Sustainer [alone, and is laid down] in His decree; my Sustainer does not err, and neither does He forget." 52 Who hath appointed the earth as a bed and hath threaded roads for you therein and hath sent down water from the sky and thereby We have brought forth divers kinds of vegetation, 53 so eat and graze your cattle. In this there are signs for men of understanding. 54
