The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the heaven is split asunder 1 And has responded to its Lord and was obligated [to do so] 2 when the earth is stretched out 3 and casts out all that is within and voids itself, 4 and hearkens to the command of its Lord, doing what it should. 5 Thou, verily, O man, art working toward thy Lord a work which thou wilt meet (in His presence). 6 And as for him whose record shall be placed in his right hand, 7 shall have an easy reckoning 8 And will return to his people full of joy. 9 And as to him who shall be given his book from behind his back 10 shall call for destruction 11 And be thrown to scorching fire. 12 He used to be happy with his own people; 13 for, behold, he never thought that he would have to return [to God]. 14 Why not? His Lord was always watching him. 15 I swear by the twilight; 16 The Night and its Homing; 17 And by the moon when it is at the full, 18 you will progress from stage to stage. 19 What then is the matter with them, that they believe not?- 20 And when the Qur’an is recited to them, they do not fall prostrate? (Command of Prostration # 13) ۩ 21 In fact, they reject the Quran, 22 And Allah knows best what they hide, 23 Therefore, give them the news of a painful punishment. 24 except the righteously striving believers, who will receive a never-ending reward. 25
