And recite to them the news of Ibrahim. 69 when he asked his father and his people, "What is that which you worship?" 70 They said: "We worship idols, and to them we are ever devoted." 71 He asked, "Do they hear you when you call to them? 72 Or, benefit they you or hurt they you? 73 They said, 'Nay, but we found our fathers so doing.' 74 Abraham said, "Have you really thought about what you have been worshipping, 75 "Ye and your fathers before you?- 76 Verily they are an enemy unto me, save the Lord of the worlds. 77 He created me and He will guide me. 78 And Who feedeth me and watereth me. 79 And when I am sick, then He restores me to health 80 He will cause me to die and will bring me back to life. 81 and whom I am eager shall forgive me my sins on the Day of Recompense' 82 My Lord! Bestow Hukman (religious knowledge, right judgement of the affairs and Prophethood) on me, and join me with the righteous; 83 Make my words come true in the future. 84 And make me of the heirs of the garden of bliss 85 “And forgive my father* he is indeed astray.” (His paternal uncle) 86 and do not disgrace me on the Day when all people are resurrected, 87 the Day on which neither wealth will be of any use, nor children, 88 Except him who brings to Allah a clean heart [clean from Shirk (polytheism) and Nifaq (hypocrisy)]. 89 And Paradise shall be brought forward for the godfearing, 90 And Hell made visible to those who had gone astray. 91 they will be asked, "Where are those whom you worshipped 92 Besides Allah? Can they help you or yet help themselves? 93 Then they shall be hurled therein, they and the seduced ones. 94 And the hosts of Iblis, together. 95 And they, while contending therein, shall say: 96 "By Allah, we were indeed in manifest error 97 when we made you equal with the Lord of all Being. 98 It was nothing but the evildoers who led us astray. 99 “So now we do not have any intercessors.” (The believers shall have intercessors, the disbelievers none). 100 And not a devoted friend. 101 If only we could return we would be among the believers." 102 There is certainly a sign in that, but most of them would not believe: 103 Verily Your Lord is Immensely Mighty, Ever Compassionate. 104
