Then, when the Messengers (the angels) came unto the family of Lout (Lot). 61 he said, 'Surely you are a people unknown to me!' 62 They replied, "We have come to you about the matter which the (unbelievers) have rejected. 63 And we have brought unto thee the truth, and verily we say sooth. 64 so leave with your family some time in the latter part of the night, and walk behind them. Let none of you look back. Go where you are commanded." 65 And We communicated to him the decree that by the morning those people will be totally destroyed. 66 The inhabitants of the city came in (mad) joy (at news of the young men). 67 Exclaimed [Lot]: "Behold, these are my guests: so put me not to shame, 68 And keep your duty to Allah, and shame me not! 69 They replied: "Did we not forbid you again and again to extend hospitality to all and sundry?" 70 Lot said, "These are my daughters if you want them." 71 By thy life, in their intoxication they were wandering bewildered. 72 Therefore the scream overcame them at sunrise. 73 We turned the town upside-down and showered on them lumps of baked clay. 74 Surely, in that there are signs for those who contemplate. 75 Indeed, it is on a way which still exists. 76 Lo! therein is indeed a portent for believers. 77 And the dwellers in the wood indeed were evil-doers. 78 and We took vengeance on them. The two of them were upon a roadway manifest. 79
