Hizb 46

And lo! Jonah verily was of those sent (to warn) 139 He abandoned his people 140 So he shared (with them), but was of those who are cast off. 141 So the fish swallowed him while he did that for which he blamed himself 142 But had it not been that he was of those who glorify (Us), 143 he would indeed have remained in its belly till the Day when all shall be raised from the dead: 144 ۞ but We caused him to be cast forth on a desert shore, sick [at heart] as he was, 145 and caused a creeping plant to grow over him [out of the barren soil]. 146 And We sent him to a hundred thousand (people) or even more. 147 So they accepted faith We therefore gave them usage for a while. 148 Then ask them whether your Lord has daughters and they have sons. 149 Or did We create the angels females while they were witnesses? 150 Verily, it is of their falsehood that they (Quraish pagans) say: 151 "Allah has begotten off spring or children (i.e. angels are the daughters of Allah)?" And, verily, they are liars! 152 Has He chosen daughters over sons? 153 What aileth you? How judge ye? 154 Do you not understand? 155 Do you have clear authority? 156 Then produce your scriptures, if you are telling the truth. 157 They have said that there is a relationship between Him and the jinn. The jinn certainly know that they will all be brought to suffer torment. 158 Purity is to Allah from the matters they fabricate. 159 Except the chosen servants of Allah [who do not share in that sin]. 160 Therefore you and all what you worship. (The disbelievers and their deities.) 161 you shall tempt none against Him 162 except him who shall roast in the Blazing Fire. 163 And the angels say, “Each one of us has an appointed known position.” 164 Verily we range ourselves in rows (as humble servants) 165 And we are those who sing hallelujas to Him." 166 What though they would say, 167 Had we a reminder from those of yore, 168 We would have been the chosen creatures of God." 169 And yet, [now that this divine writ has been placed before them,] they refuse to acknowledge it as true! In time, however, they will come to know [what it was that they had rejected]: 170 And certainly Our word has already gone forth in respect of Our servants, the apostles: 171 that, verily, they - they indeed - would be succoured, 172 and Our host -- they are the victors. 173 So turn thou away from them for a little while, 174 See them and soon they shall see. 175 Do they, then, [really] wish that Our chastisement be hastened on? 176 But when it shall descend in their court, evil shall then be the morning of the warned ones. 177 So turn (away) from them for a while, 178 and see; and they too shall soon see. 179 Your Lord, the Lord of Honor, is too exalted to be considered as they describe Him. 180 And peace be unto the sent ones. 181 And all praise to God, the Lord of all the worlds. 182
True are the words of God the Almighty.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
