۞ Gather together those who did wrong and their comrades and that which they were wont to worship 22 “Instead of Allah – and herd them to the path leading to hell.” 23 And detain them, for they will be questioned." 24 'But what is the matter with you that you cannot help one another?,'" 25 No, today they will resign themselves in submission, 26 And they will turn to one another, and question one another. 27 They will say: "It was you who used to come to us from the right side [i.e. from the right side of one of us and beautify for us every evil, order us for polytheism, and stop us from the truth i.e. Islamic Monotheism and from every good deed]." 28 They will reply: "Nay, you yourselves were not believers. 29 And we had over you no authority, but ye were a people exorbitant. 30 Thus, the words of Our Lord about us have come true and now we are suffering the torment. 31 "So we led you astray because we were ourselves astray." 32 On that Day they will all share the punishment: 33 This is how We deal with the criminals. 34 Whenever it was said to them: “There is no true deity apart from Allah,” they waxed proud 35 And to say: What! shall we indeed give up our gods for the sake of a mad poet? 36 Nay! he has come with the (very) Truth, and he confirms (the Message of) the messengers (before him). 37 Ye shall indeed taste of the Grievous Penalty;- 38 And you will be requited nothing except for what you used to do (evil deeds, sins, and Allah's disobedience which you used to do in this world); 39 Save the servants of Allah, the purified ones. 40 for them awaits a known provision, 41 Fruits; and they shall be honoured, 42 in the Gardens of Bliss. 43 upon couches, set face to face, 44 Cups of wine will be presented to them in rounds, from a spring flowing in front of them. 45 White, delicious to the drinkers, 46 Neither they will have Ghoul (any kind of hurt, abdominal pain, headache, a sin, etc.) from that, nor will they suffer intoxication therefrom. 47 And with them shall be those who restrain the eyes, having beautiful eyes; 48 As if they were eggs, safely hidden. 49 Then they will turn to one another and question one another. 50 One of them says, 'I had a comrade 51 Who would say, 'Are you indeed of those who believe 52 "'When we die and become dust and bones, shall we indeed receive rewards and punishments?'" 53 He will say, "Would you [care to] look?" 54 So he looked down and saw him in the midst of the Fire. 55 He will say to his friend in hell, "By God, you almost destroyed me. 56 Had I not the guidance of my Lord, I would certainly have been brought into torment". 57 Are we then not to die 58 except our first death, and shall we not be punished' 59 Verily this! that is the supreme achievement. 60 For the like of this let the workers [on earth] work. 61 Is Paradise a better accommodation or the tree of zaqqum? 62 Lo! We have appointed it a torment for wrong-doers. 63 It is a tree that grows from the bottom of Hell; 64 its fruit [as repulsive] as satans' heads; 65 So indeed they will eat from it, and fill their bellies with it. 66 Then on top of that they will be given a mixture made of boiling water. 67 then their return is unto Hell. 68 They found their fathers in error, 69 So they (too) made haste to follow in their footsteps! 70 Before them erred most of the ancients, 71 And certainly We sent among them warners. 72 Then see what was the end of those who were warned (but heeded not). 73 Other than the chosen creatures of God. 74
