The man who believed said: "O my people, follow me; I will guide you to the right path. 38 O my people, this worldly life is only [temporary] enjoyment, and indeed, the Hereafter - that is the home of [permanent] settlement. 39 Whoever does an evil deed will not be recompensed except by the like thereof; but whoever does righteousness, whether male or female, while he is a believer - those will enter Paradise, being given provision therein without account. 40 ۞ "And O my people, how is it that I summon you to salvation, the while you summon me to the fire? 41 "You invite me to disbelieve in Allah (and in His Oneness), and to join partners in worship with Him; of which I have no knowledge, and I invite you to the All-Mighty, the Oft-Forgiving! 42 What you are calling me to is surely not worth the calling in this world or in the next, because our returning is to God; and because the transgressors will be inmates of Hell. 43 You will remember what I say in time to come; I submit my case to the judgement of God. Surely God keeps an eye on His creatures." 44 So God preserved him from the evil they were planning; and a dreadful doom encompassed the people of Pharaoh: 45 The fire; they shall be brought before it (every) morning and evening and on the day when the hour shall come to pass: Make Firon's people enter the severest chastisement. 46 And when they argue with one another in Hell, the weak will say to the proud: 'We were your followers, will you help us against any share of the Fire' 47 Those who were proud will say, “We are all in the fire – indeed Allah has already passed the judgement among the bondmen.” 48 And those in the Fire will say to the keepers (angels) of Hell: "Call upon your Lord to lighten for us the torment for a day!" 49 They will say, "Did there not come to you your messengers with clear proofs?" They will say, "Yes." They will reply, "Then supplicate [yourselves], but the supplication of the disbelievers is not except in error." 50
