And, indeed We gave Our Grace to Musa (Moses) and Harun (Aaron). 114 and saved them and their people from great distress. 115 We helped them and they were victorious. 116 And We gave them both the Book that made (things) clear. 117 and guided them to the straight path; 118 and left them thus to be remembered among later generations: 119 Peace be unto Musa and Harun. 120 Lo! thus do We reward the good. 121 truly they were among Our faithful servants. 122 And lo! Elias was of those sent (to warn), 123 He told his people, "Why do you not have fear of God? 124 Do you call on Baal, and abandon the Best of creators? 125 God, your Sustainer and the Sustainer of your forebears of old?" 126 In response they denied him, so they will surely be brought forth as captives. 127 Except the chosen creatures of God. 128 We perpetuated his praise in the later generations. 129 "Peace be on Elijah and his people!" 130 Lo! thus do We reward the good. 131 Surely he was one of Our believing servants. 132 And verily, Lout (Lot) was one of the Messengers. 133 [So mention] when We saved him and his family, all, 134 Except an old woman (who was) amongst those who tarried. 135 Then We annihilated the others. 136 Verily, ye pass by their (sites), by day- 137 And at night-time; have ye then no sense? 138

(1) وقف لازم، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي نقطة وقف. (2) وقف جائز مع الوقف أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلثين. When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
