The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the Sky and the Night-Visitant (therein);- 1 And what will make you to know what At-Tariq (night-comer) is? 2 The piercing star! 3 There is no soul but that it has over it a protector. 4 So let man consider of what he was created. 5 He is created from a water gushing forth. 6 issuing between the loins and the breast-bones. 7 Surely, He is Able to bring him back, 8 On the Day when man's deepest secrets shall be put to the test 9 Then will (man) have no power, nor any helper. 10 By the heaven which giveth the returning rain, 11 And by the Earth which opens out (for the gushing of springs or the sprouting of vegetation),- 12 It is surely a decisive utterance; 13 and it is certainly not a jest. 14 They are hatching up a plot, 15 and I am cunningly devising. 16 Therefore respite the unbelievers, and delay them for a while. 17
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
