Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Say: It has been revealed to me that a party of the jinn listened, and they said: Surely we have heard a wonderful Quran, 1 guiding to rectitude. We believe in it, and we will not associate with our Lord anyone. 2 And He - exalted be the majesty of our Lord! hath taken neither a spouse nor a son. 3 The ignorant fool among us has spoken outrageously against Allah, 4 We had in fact thought that men and jinns would never speak a lie about God, 5 And indeed (O Muhammad) individuals of humankind used to invoke the protection of individuals of the jinn, so that they increased them in revolt against Allah); 6 They thought, as you did, that God would never raise up anyone from the dead. 7 'And we have sought to reach the heaven; but found it filled with stern guards and flaming fires. 8 We would sit there on seats to hear; but any listening now finds a meteor in wait for him. 9 ‘And we do not know whether harm is intended for those on the earth, or whether their Lord intends goodness for them.’ 10 And that some of us are good and others of us are below that: we are sects following different ways: 11 And we know that we cannot frustrate Allah in the earth, nor can we frustrate Him by flight. 12 When we heard the guidance, we believed in it; and whosoever believes in his Lord, he shall fear neither paltriness nor vileness. 13 And of us some are Muslims, and of us some are deviators. Then whosoever hath embraced Islam - such have endeavoured after a path of rectitude. 14 And as for the deviators, for Hell they shall be fuel. 15 And that if they should keep to the (right) way, We would certainly give them to drink of abundant water, 16 "That We might try them by that (means). But if any turns away from the remembrance of his Lord, He will cause him to undergo a severe Penalty. 17 "And the places of worship are for Allah (alone): So invoke not any one along with Allah; 18 And that when the servant of Allah stood up calling upon Him, they wellnigh crowded him (to death). 19
