The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By oath of those who harshly pull out the soul. (Of the disbeliever) 1 and those that blow gently, 2 and by [the clouds] that swim serenely and 3 and those that outstrip suddenly 4 And direct affairs by command, 5 On the Day, the shiverer shivers 6 and will be followed by another quaking. 7 hearts will throb on that Day 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 They say (now): "What! shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state? 10 After having turned to carious bones?" 11 They shall say, 'That then were a losing return!' 12 But all it will take is a single blast, 13 So they will immediately be in an open plain. 14 Hath there come unto thee the history of Moses? 15 Behold, thy Lord did call to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa:- 16 Go to Fir'aun (Pharaoh), verily, he has transgressed all bounds (in crimes, sins, polytheism, disbelief, etc.). 17 Then say thou: wouldst thou to be purified? 18 Then I will guide thee to thy Lord and thou shalt fear (Him). 19 Then [Musa (Moses)] showed him the great sign (miracles). 20 but he cried lies, and rebelled, 21 Then he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). 22 then he mustered 23 Saying: "I am your lord, most high", 24 So Allah seized him in exemplary punishment for the last and the first [transgression]. 25 Verily herein is lesson for him who feareth. 26
