The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
WHEN THE SUN is shrouded in darkness, 1 the stars are made to fade away, 2 And when the mountains are made to pass away, 3 when the pregnant camels shall be neglected, 4 And when the wild beasts are herded together, 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 When the souls are sorted out, (being joined, like with like); 7 And when the girl buried alive shall be asked: 8 For what sin she was killed, 9 and when the scrolls [of men's deeds] are unfolded, 10 And when the sky is stripped away 11 and when the blazing fire [of hell] is kindled bright, 12 when Paradise shall be brought nigh, 13 Every soul shall (then) know what it has prepared. 14 I swear by the receding stars, 15 That run their course (and) hide themselves, 16 And by the night as it departs; 17 The rising dawn, 18 Verily, this is the Word (this Quran brought by) a most honourable messenger [Jibrael (Gabriel), from Allah to the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him)]. 19 one mighty and held in honour with the Lord of the Throne; 20 One (to be) obeyed, and faithful in trust. 21 And your companion is not insane. 22 Surely he beheld Him on the clear horizon. 23 Neither doth he withhold grudgingly a knowledge of the Unseen. 24 And it (the Quran) is not the word of the outcast Shaitan (Satan). 25 Where then will you go? 26 It is naught but a reminder for the nations, 27 For him among you who pleases to go straight. 28 And you do not will except that Allah wills - Lord of the worlds. 29
