Have you then seen him who turns his back? 33 who at first gave a little, then later held back? 34 Does he have any knowledge of the world beyond the ken of sense-perception, and therefore, clearly sees (the Truth)? 35 Has he not been made acquainted with what was written in the scriptures of Moses? 36 and Abraham, who paid his debt in full? 37 That no one who carries a burden bears another's load; 38 And that for man shall be naught save that wherefor he endeavoureth. 39 And that his endeavour shall be presently observed. 40 Then he will be fully repaid for it? 41 that all things in the end shall return to God; 42 and that it is He alone who causes [you] to laugh and to weep; 43 And that it is He Who causeth to die and causeth to live. 44 That He did create in pairs,- male and female, 45 From a sperm-drop when it is emitted 46 That the second creation is incumbent on Him; 47 It is He who grants people temporary and durable wealth. 48 and that it is He alone who sustains the brightest star; 49 And that it is He Who earlier destroyed the tribe of Aad? 50 And destroyed the tribe of Thamud, not sparing anyone? 51 and before them the nation of Noah, they exceeded in evil and were insolent. 52 And the overthrown cities did He overthrow, 53 So that (ruins unknown) have covered them up. 54 How many favours of your Lord will you then deny? 55 This is a warner from the warners of ancient times. 56 that [Last Hour] which is so near draws ever nearer, 57 None beside Allah can disclose it. 58 Do you then wonder at this recital (the Quran)? 59 And you laugh and do not weep 60 While ye amuse yourselves? 61 So prostrate yourselves before God and worship him. ۩ 62
