Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ I CALL TO WITNESS the Day of Resurrection, 1 and nay, I swear by the self-reproaching soul! 2 Does man think that We cannot [resurrect him and] bring his bones together again? 3 Yea! WE are Able to put together evenly his finger-tips. 4 Aye! man desireth that he may sin before him. 5 'When will the Day of Resurrection be' he asks, 6 Yet when the eyes are dazzled, 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 And the sun and the moon will be united. 9 on that Day will man exclaim "Whither to flee?" 10 By no means! there shall be no place of refuge! 11 With thy Sustainer, on that Day, the journey's end will be! 12 Man will be apprised, on that Day, of what he has done and what he has left undone: 13 But lo, man is well aware of himself, 14 even though they make excuses. 15 Move not thy tongue with it to hasten it; 16 It's gathering and reciting is upon Us. 17 When We recite it, follow its recitation. 18 Then it is for Us (Allah) to make it clear to you, 19 No indeed; but you love the hasty world, 20 and leave be the Hereafter. 21 (Some) faces on that day shall be bright, 22 Looking toward their Lord. 23 and some faces on that Day will be gloomy, 24 certain of facing a great calamity. 25 But, when (the soul) reaches the collar bone 26 And there will be a cry, "Who is a magician (to restore him)?" 27 And he (the dying person) will conclude that it was (the time) of departing (death); 28 and leg is intertwined with leg, 29 upon that day unto thy Lord shall be the driving. 30
