Kneeling (Al-Jaatheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Ha-Mim. 1 The sending down of the Book is from Allah, the Most Honourable, the Wise. 2 Surely in the heavens and earth there are signs for the believers; 3 And in your own nature, and in [that of] all the animals which He scatters [over the earth] there are messages for people who are endowed with inner certainty. 4 And in the alternation of Night and Day, and the fact that Allah sends down Sustenance from the sky, and revives therewith the earth after its death, and in the change of the winds,- are Signs for those that are wise. 5 These are the revelations of God which We recite to you for a genuine purpose. In what statements other than God's and His revelations will they then believe? 6 Woe to every guilty impostor 7 He hears the verses of Allah recited to him and then, as though he never heard them, persists in insolence. Give to him the glad tidings of a painful punishment. 8 And when he knows anything of Our verses, he takes them in ridicule. Those will have a humiliating punishment. 9 Before them is Hell, and what they had earned will not avail them at all nor what they had taken besides Allah as allies. And they will have a great punishment. 10 This Book is guidance, and those who disbelieve in the revelations of their Lord, theirs shall be torment of calamity, afflictive. 11
