And (remember) when you killed a man and fell into dispute among yourselves as to the crime. But Allah brought forth that which you were hiding. 72 So We said: "Strike him (the dead man) with a piece of it (the cow)." Thus Allah brings the dead to life and shows you His Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) so that you may understand. 73 Then your hearts became hardened after that, being like stones or even harder. For indeed, there are stones from which rivers burst forth, and there are some of them that split open and water comes out, and there are some of them that fall down for fear of Allah. And Allah is not unaware of what you do. 74 ۞ Do you then hope that they will believe in you when some of them have already heard the word of God and then, after having understood it, they knowingly perverted it? 75 For, when they meet those who have attained to faith, they say: "We believe [as you believe]" - but when they find themselves alone with one another, they say: "Do you inform them of what God has disclosed to you, so that they might use it in argument against you, quoting the words of your Sustainer? Will you not, then, use your reason?" 76 But do they not know that Allah knows what they conceal and what they declare? 77 And there are among them illiterates, who know not the Book, but (see therein their own) desires, and they do nothing but conjecture. 78 Then woe to those who write the Book with their own hands, and then say:"This is from Allah," to traffic with it for miserable price!- Woe to them for what their hands do write, and for the gain they make thereby. 79 And they say: "The fire will most certainly not touch us for more than a limited number of days." Say [unto them]: "Have you received a promise from God - for God never breaks His promise - or do you attribute to God something which you cannot know?" 80 There is no doubt that evil doers who are engulfed in sins are the companions of hell fire wherein they will live forever. 81 Only those people who believe and do good deeds, will be the dwellers of the Garden and live there for ever. 82
