In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ Lam. Mim. Sad. 1 A Book revealed to you-- so let there be no straitness in your breast on account of it-- that you may warn thereby, and a reminder close to the believers. 2 (Saying): Follow that which is sent down unto you from your Lord, and follow no protecting friends beside Him. Little do ye recollect! 3 And how many a township We have destroyed, upon them Our violence came at night or while they were taking their midday rest. 4 No plea had they, when Our terror came unto them, save that they said: Lo! We were wrong-doers. 5 We will certainly question the people and the Messengers sent to them. 6 And verily, We shall recount their whole story with knowledge, for We were never absent (at any time or place). 7 And the weighing [of deeds] that Day will be the truth. So those whose scales are heavy - it is they who will be the successful. 8 Those whose scale will be light, will be their souls in perdition, for that they wrongfully treated Our signs. 9 YEA, INDEED, [O men,] We have given you a [bountiful] place on earth, and appointed thereon means of livelihood for you: [yet] how seldom are you grateful! 10

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
