Then when the sent ones entered unto the household of Lut. 61 he said to them: 'I do not know you' 62 They answered: "Nay, but we have come unto thee with [the announcement of] something that they [who are given to evil] have always been wont to call in question, 63 We have come to thee with the truth, and assuredly we speak truly. 64 Depart with your family in a part of the night and walk behind them and let none of you turn round. Go to a place where you are commanded' 65 And We decreed unto him this commandment because the last of those was to be cut off in the early morning. 66 And the inhabitants of the city came rejoicing (at the news of the young men's arrival). 67 He said, “These are my guests – do not dishonour me.” 68 And fear Allah and do not disgrace me." 69 They replied: 'Have we not forbidden you (the people of) the worlds' 70 [Lout (Lot)] said: "These (the girls of the nation) are my daughters (to marry lawfully), if you must act (so)." 71 By your life, (O Prophet), they went about blindly stumbling in their intoxication. 72 So they were seized by the mighty blast at break of day; 73 We laid it (the city) upside down and rained stones of baked clay upon them. 74 Surely in this are signs for those who examine. 75 Indeed, it is on a way which still exists. 76 Behold! in this is a sign for those who believed. 77 The dwellers of the Thicket were harmdoers. 78 We therefore took revenge from them; and indeed both these townships are situated on an open road. 79
