▼ 15 The Hijjr Valley
Al-Hijjr 6 of 6
And assuredly the dwellers of Hijr belied the sent ones. 80 And though We had given them Our signs they turned away from them. 81 They hewed their dwellings out of the mountains in safety. 82 An explosion struck them in the morning. 83 Then availed them not that which they had been earning. 84 We have not created but with reason the heavens and the earth and all that lies within them. The Hour (of the great change) is certain to come. So turn away (from them) with a grace. 85 Surely your Lord is the All Knowing Creator! 86 (Muhammad), We have given you the seven most repeated (verses) and the great Quran. 87 [so] turn, not thine eyes [longingly] towards the worldly benefits which We have granted unto some of those [that deny the truth]. And neither grieve over those [who refuse to heed thee,] but spread the wings of thy tenderness over the believers, 88 and say: "Behold, I am indeed the plain warner [promised by God]! 89 such as We send down for those who are divisive, 90 Who have made the Qur'an into portions. 91 by your Lord, We shall question them all 92 for what they have done 93 (O Prophet), proclaim what you are commanded, and pay no heed to those who associate others with Allah in His Divinity. 94 Surely We will suffice you against the scoffers 95 Those who adopt, with Allah, another god: but soon will they come to know. 96 We do indeed know how thy heart is distressed at what they say. 97 Therefore celebrate the praise of your Lord, and be of those who make obeisance. 98 And keep worshipping your Lord, till death* comes to you. (* The certainty.) 99

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
