The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven breaks apart. 1 And attentive to her Lord in fear, 2 and when the earth is leveled, 3 and casts forth what is in it, and voids itself, 4 And it listens to the command of its Lord – and that befits it. 5 O man! Verily, you are returning towards your Lord with your deeds and actions (good or bad), a sure returning, so you will meet (i.e. the results of your deeds which you did). 6 he who is given his record in his right hand 7 Will have an easy reckoning, 8 And will return unto his folk in joy. 9 But as for him whose record shall be given to him behind his back; 10 Soon he will pray for death. 11 but he will enter the blazing flame. 12 Truly, did he go about among his people, rejoicing! 13 Never thinking he will return. 14 But he will indeed! His Lord was ever watching him. 15 I swear by the afterglow of sunset, 16 And by the night and that which it driveth together, 17 or by the moon when it is full, 18 Ye shall surely travel from stage to stage. 19 What is wrong with them that they do not believe? 20 And that, when the Qur'an is read unto them, they prostrate not them-selves! ۩ 21 Nay, but the unbelievers are crying lies, 22 Yet God has full knowledge of what they conceal [in their hearts]. 23 (Muhammad), tell them that they will all suffer a painful torment 24 Except to those who believe and work righteous deeds: For them is a Reward that will never fail. 25
