(The nation of) Aad belied their Messengers. 123 When their fellowman Hud said to them, “Do you not fear?” 124 “I am indeed a trustworthy Noble Messenger of Allah to you.” 125 Therefore guard against (the punishment of) Allah and obey me: 126 And I do not ask you any reward for it; surely my reward is only with the Lord of the worlds 127 You construct monuments on every hill in vain, 128 and do you take to you castles, haply to dwell forever? 129 And will you [always,] whenever you lay hand [on others,] lay hand [on them] cruelly, without any restraint? 130 So guard against (the punishment of) Allah and obey me 131 Have fear of Him Who has provided you with all the (good) things you know; 132 amply provided you with flocks, and children, 133 gardens, and springs. 134 Surely I fear for you the chastisement of a grievous day 135 They said: It is all one to us whether thou preachest or art not of those who preach; 136 your preaching is nothing but ancient legends and we shall not face any torment". 137 And we are not going to be tormented. 138 And they denied him, so We destroyed them. Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers. 139 Surely, your Lord is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 140
