The people of al-Hijr also rejected Our messengers: 80 for We did vouchsafe them Our messages, but they obstinately turned their backs upon them 81 notwithstanding that they had been wont [to enjoy Our blessings and] to hew out dwellings from the mountains, [wherein they could live] in security 82 Then the Blast caught them in the morning 83 that they earned did not avail them. 84 And We have not created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, except with the Truth; and indeed the Last Day will come, therefore (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), forbear graciously. 85 Your Lord is certainly the All-knowing Creator. 86 AND, INDEED, We have bestowed upon thee seven of the oft repeated [verses,] and [have, thus, laid open before thee] this sublime Qur'an: 87 Stretch not thine eyes to that We have given pairs of them to enjoy; and do not sorrow for them, and lower thy wing unto the believers, 88 and say, "I am, indeed, a plain warner," 89 As We have sent down on the dividers, (Quraish pagans or Jews and Christians). 90 Those who have made the scripture bits. 91 So, by your Lord, We would most certainly question them all, 92 As to what they did. 93 So declare to them what We have enjoined, and turn away from idolaters. 94 We shall help you against those who mock you 95 and those who set up other gods with Allah, indeed, they will soon know. 96 We do indeed know how thy heart is distressed at what they say. 97 Therefore celebrate the praise of your Lord, and be of those who make obeisance. 98 And worship your Lord until there comes to you the certainty (death). 99
