The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
All praise is to Allah Who sent down the Book upon His bondman, and has not kept any deviation in it. 1 Immutable, so that it may warn of a severe punishment from Him; and give happy tidings to those who believe and do the right that there is a better reward of Paradise for them, 2 Staying in it for ever; 3 And to warn those who say, "Allah has taken a son." 4 Surely, of this they have no knowledge, neither they nor their fathers; it is a monstrous word that comes from their mouths, they say nothing but a lie. 5 Haply thou art going to kill thyself over their footsteps, if they believe not in this discourse, out of sorrow. 6 Surely We have made whatever is on the earth an embellishment for it, so that We may try them (as to) which of them is best in works. 7 and We shall surely make all that is on it barren dust. 8 Do you not think that the story of the Companions of the Cave and the Inscription was one of Our marvelous miracles? 9 (Remember) when the young men fled for refuge (from their disbelieving folk) to the Cave, they said: "Our Lord! Bestow on us mercy from Yourself, and facilitate for us our affair in the right way!" 10 So We cast [a cover of sleep] over their ears within the cave for a number of years. 11 Then roused them to ascertain which of the two groups could account for the period they had stayed. 12
