And [mention] when We said to the angels, "Prostrate to Adam," and they prostrated, except Iblees; he refused. 116 So We said: O Adam! This is an enemy to you and to your wife; therefore let him not drive you both forth from the garden so that you should be unhappy; 117 (for in Paradise) neither are you hungry nor naked, 118 And indeed, you will not be thirsty therein or be hot from the sun." 119 But then Satan tempted him by saying: "O Adam, should I show you the tree of immortality, and a kingdom that will never know any wane?" 120 They both ate the fruit of this tree, and so they became conscious of their nakedness and began to cover themselves with the leaves of the Garden. Thus Adam disobeyed his Lord and fell into error. 121 But his Lord chose him (for His Grace): He turned to him, and gave him Guidance. 122 He said: Get forth you two therefrom, all (of you), one of you (is) enemy to another. So there will surely come to you guidance from Me, then whoever follows My guidance, he shall not go astray nor be unhappy; 123 "But whosoever turns away from My Message, verily for him is a life narrowed down, and We shall raise him up blind on the Day of Judgment." 124 where-upon he will say: "Lord! Why have You raised me blind when I had sight in the world?" 125 He (Allah) will say: 'It is so, Our verses came to you and you forgot them. So this Day you are forgotten' 126 And thus do We recompense him who transgresses beyond bounds and believes not in the Signs of his Lord: and the Penalty of the Hereafter is far more grievous and more enduring. 127 Did they not find any guidance in the fact that We destroyed many nations in whose ruined dwelling-places they now walk about? Surely there are many Signs in them for people endowed with wisdom. 128
