The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Successful indeed are the believers. 1 who are submissive to God in their prayers, 2 and who turn away from all that is frivolous, 3 who give charity, 4 And those who guard their chastity (i.e. private parts, from illegal sexual acts) 5 Save in regard to their spouses and those whom their right hands own: so they are not blameworthy 6 And whosoever seeketh beyond that, then it is these who are the transgressors 7 And those who of their trusts and covenant are keepers. 8 And those who of their prayers are observant. 9 Those are the inheritors 10 Who will inherit paradise. There they will abide. 11 We created man from the finest extract of clay, 12 Thereafter We made him of a sperm in a receptacle safe. 13 Then We made the sperm into a clot of congealed blood; then of that clot We made a (foetus) lump; then we made out of that lump bones and clothed the bones with flesh; then we developed out of it another creature. So blessed be Allah, the best to create! 14 after this you shall surely die. 15 and be resurrected on the Day of Resurrection. 16 We have created seven ways above you; of Our creation, We are never inattentive. 17 And We send down water from the skies in accordance with a measure [set by Us,] and then We cause it to lodge in the earth: but, behold, We are most certainly able to withdraw this [blessing]! 18 Then We produced for you therewith gardens of palms and vines wherein are many fruits for you, and of them you eat, 19 And a tree that grows out of Mount Sinai which produces oil and a condiment for those who eat. 20 And lo! in the cattle there is verily a lesson for you. We give you to drink of that which is in their bellies, and many uses have ye in them, and of them do ye eat; 21 and you ride on them as you do in ships. 22
