Al-A 'araaf 10 of 24
And to (the tribe of) Thamud (We sent) their brother Salih. He said: O my people! Serve Allah. Ye have no other Allah save Him. A wonder from your Lord hath come unto you. Lo! this is the camel of Allah, a token unto you; so let her feed in Allah's earth, and touch her not with hurt lest painful torment seize you. 73 Remember, how you were made leaders after the people of 'Ad, and were settled on the land so that you could construct on the plains palaces, and carve dwellings out of mountains. So think of the favours of God, and do not act with corruption in the land." 74 The leaders of those who were arrogant among his people said to those who were counted weak - to such of them as believed: "Know you that Salih (Saleh) is one sent from his Lord." They said: "We indeed believe in that with which he has been sent." 75 The haughty ones remarked. 'Most certainly we disbelieve in that which you believe.' 76 So they hamstrung the she-camel and were insolent toward the command of their Lord and said, "O Salih, bring us what you promise us, if you should be of the messengers." 77 Then the earthquake overtook them, so they became motionless bodies in their abode. 78 Then he turned from them, and said: O my people! Assuredly I delivered unto you the messages of my Lord, and counselled you good, but ye approve not the good counsellors. 79 And We sent Lut, when he said unto his people: commit ye an indecency wherewith none hath preceded you in the worlds? 80 “You lustfully go towards men, instead of women! In fact, you have transgressed the limits.” 81 And the answer of his people was only that they said (one to another): Turn them out of your township. They are folk, forsooth, who keep pure. 82 So We delivered him and his family, except his wife; she was one of those that tarried. 83 And We rained a shower (of stones) upon them; therefore see what sort of fate befell the culprits! 84

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
