And remember thou Our bondman Ayyub, what time he cried unto his Lord: verily the Satan hath touched me with affliction and suffering. 41 We said to him, “Strike the earth with your foot; this cool spring is for bathing and drinking.” (A spring gushed forth when he struck the earth – this was a miracle.) 42 And We bestowed his household to him and one more similar to it – as a mercy from Us, and as a remembrance for the people of intellect. 43 (and We said to him): “Take in your hand a bundle of rushes and strike with it, and do not break your oath.” Indeed We found him steadfast. How excellent a servant (of Ours) he was. Indeed he constantly turned (to his Lord). 44 And make mention of Our bondmen, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, men of parts and vision. 45 Lo! We purified them with a pure thought, remembrance of the Home (of the Hereafter). 46 and, in Our sight they were indeed among the select, the truly good! 47 And remember Isma'il and Al-Yas'a and Zul-kifl; all of the excellent ones. 48 This is a Message (of admonition): and verily, for the righteous, is a beautiful Place of (Final) Return,- 49 Gardens of Eden, whereof the gates are open to them, 50 Reclining on pillows, in it they ask for fruits and drinks in plenty. 51 ۞ And with them are the pure spouses, who do not set gaze upon men except their husbands, of single age. 52 'This is what you are promised on the Day of Recompense, 53 Truly such will be Our Bounty (to you); it will never fail;- 54 This (for the virtuous); but for the transgressors the evil destination, 55 hell will they have to endure - and how vile a resting-place! 56 This (shall be so); so let them taste it, boiling and intensely cold (drink). 57 and other such torments. 58 Here is a multitude rushing headlong with you. There is no welcome for them. They will roast in the fire. 59 They will say to them, "You are not welcome! It was you who brought this on us, an evil place to stay," 60 [And] they will pray: "O our Sustainer! Whoever has prepared this for us, double Thou his suffering in the fire!" 61 And they will say, "How is it that we do not see [here any of the] men whom we used to count among the wicked, 62 Have we taken them in mockery? Or, have our eyes swerved from them?' 63 Lo! that is very truth: the wrangling of the dwellers in the Fire. 64
