In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ Ta Sin Mim. 1 These are the verses of the illustrious Book. 2 Possibly you may risk your life (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) by grieving, because they did not believe. 3 If We willed, We could send down to them from the sky a sign for which their necks would remain humbled. 4 But there comes not to them a newly-revealed Message from (Allah) Most Gracious, but they turn away therefrom. 5 So, they belied, but surely the tidings of that they mocked will come to them. 6 Observe they not the earth, how much We make to grow therein of every fruitful kind? 7 Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers. 8 And verily, your Lord! He is truly the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful. 9

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
