The Pharaoh said to the people around him, "He is certainly a skillful magician. 34 "He wants to drive you out of your land by his sorcery, then what is it your counsel, and what do you command?" 35 They said: put off him and his brother, and send unto the cities callers. 36 Who will bring you every learned, skilled magician." 37 So the magicians were assembled for the appointment of a well-known day. 38 And it was said unto the people: Are ye (also) gathering? 39 Belike we may follow the magicians if they are the winners? 40 When the magicians came, they asked Pharaoh, "Shall we have a reward, if we are the winners?" 41 He replied, "You will then be my closest associates". 42 Moosa said to them, “Cast whatever you intend to cast.” 43 Then they threw down their cords and their staves and said: By Pharaoh's might, lo! we verily are the winners. 44 Therefore Moosa put forth his staff – so it immediately began swallowing all their fabrications. 45 And the magicians were thrown down prostrate; 46 saying, "We believe in the Lord of the Universe 47 The Lord of Musa and Haroun. 48 Said Pharaoh, 'You have believed him before I gave you leave. Why, he is the chief of you, the same that taught you sorcery; now you shall know! I shall assuredly cut off alternately your hands and feet, then I shall crucify you all together.' 49 They said, 'There is no harm; surely unto our Lord we are turning. 50 We hope that our Lord will forgive us for our sins; we were not believers at first." 51
