And recite to them the news of Abraham. 69 When he said to his father and his people, “What do you worship?” 70 They replied: "We worship idols and are devoted to them." 71 He said, “Do they hear you when you call?” 72 Or do they benefit you, or do they harm?" 73 They replied: 'No, but we found our fathers doing so' 74 He said: 'Have you considered what you worship, 75 you and your fathers, the elders? 76 “They are all my enemies, except the Lord Of The Creation.” 77 "Who created me, and it is He Who guides me; 78 It is He who gives me food and drink 79 And when I am ill, it is He who cures me 80 who makes me to die, then gives me life, 81 and whom I am eager shall forgive me my sins on the Day of Recompense' 82 Lord, grant me authority. Join me to the righteous ones. 83 And grant me a reputation of honor among later generations. 84 And make me one of the inheritors of the Paradise of Delight; 85 And forgive my father; verily he is of the erring. 86 Do not betray me 87 The day when wealth and sons avail not (any man) 88 "But only he (will prosper) that brings to Allah a sound heart; 89 And Paradise will be brought close for the pious. 90 And the hell shall be made manifest to the erring ones, 91 It shall be said to them, 'Where is that you were serving 92 Besides Allah? Can they help you or yet help themselves? 93 Then they will be thrown headlong into Hell, both they and the misguided ones, 94 And the hosts of Iblis, together. 95 They will say while contending therein, 96 By Allah, of a truth we were in error manifest 97 "'When we held you as equals with the Lord of the Worlds; 98 It is none but those steeped in guilt who led us into this error, 99 “So now we do not have any intercessors.” (The believers shall have intercessors, the disbelievers none). 100 Nor any sincere friend. 101 Then if we only had a return [to the world] and could be of the believers... " 102 There is certainly a sign in that, but most of them would not believe: 103 Verily Your Lord is Immensely Mighty, Ever Compassionate. 104
