And recite to them the story of Ibrahim (Abraham). 69 When he said to his father and his people, “What do you worship?” 70 They replied: 'We worship idols and continue cleaving to them' 71 Said he: "Do [you really think that] they hear you when you invoke them, 72 Or do they benefit or harm you? 73 They said: Nay, we found our fathers doing so. 74 He said, “Do you see these – (the idols) whom you worship?” 75 you, and your elderly fathers? 76 “They are all my enemies, except the Lord Of The Creation.” 77 He created me and He will guide me. 78 and Himself gives me to eat and drink, 79 and when I fall ill, is the One who restores me to health, 80 He who will cause me to die and bring me back to life; 81 And who, I hope, will condone my faults on the Day of Judgement. 82 My Lord! Vouchsafe me wisdom and unite me to the righteous. 83 And ordain for me a goodly mention among posterity 84 Make me one of the inheritors of the Garden of Bliss 85 And forgive my father. Indeed, he has been of those astray. 86 Do not betray me 87 The day on which property will not avail, nor sons 88 except for him who comes to God with a pure heart. 89 When Paradise shall be brought near to the God-fearing 90 and hell will be left open for the rebellious ones 91 and they will be asked: "Where are the gods that you worshipped 92 instead of God? Can these [things and beings] be of any help to you or to themselves?" 93 Then they will be thrown on their faces into the (Fire), They and the Ghawun (devils, and those who were in error). 94 and the army of satan will all be thrown headlong into hell. 95 Disputing among themselves they will say: 96 'By God, we were certainly in manifest error 97 When we made you equal with the Lord of the Worlds. 98 Only the sinful ones made us go astray. 99 "'Now, then, we have none to intercede (for us), 100 nor do we have a truly sincere friend. 101 Oh, that we had another turn (on earth), that we might be of the believers! 102 Surely, in that there is a sign, yet most of them do not believe. 103 Surely, Your Lord is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 104
