Tell them the story of Abraham, 69 When he asked his father and his people: "What do you worship?" 70 They replied: "We worship idols and are devoted to them." 71 He said: Do they hear you when you call? 72 Or do they profit you or cause you harm? 73 They said: Nay, but we found our fathers acting on this wise. 74 He said, "Then do you see what you have been worshipping, 75 you and your fathers, the elders? 76 Verily they are an enemy unto me, save the Lord of the worlds. 77 "Who has created me, and it is He Who guides me; 78 And Who feedeth me and watereth me. 79 “And when I fall ill, so it is He Who heals me.” 80 Who will make me die, then give me life again, 81 and whom I am eager shall forgive me my sins on the Day of Recompense' 82 My Lord! Bestow Hukman (religious knowledge, right judgement of the affairs and Prophethood) on me, and join me with the righteous; 83 Make my words come true in the future. 84 and place me amongst the inheritors of the Garden of Bliss. 85 And forgive my father, for surely he is of those who have gone astray; 86 And abase me not on the day when they are raised, 87 the Day when nothing will avail, neither wealth nor offspring, 88 Unless it be he, who shall bring unto Allah a whole heart, 89 And Paradise will be brought near [that Day] to the righteous. 90 and Hell advanced for the perverse. 91 And it shall be said unto them where is that which ye were wont to worship? 92 apart from God? Do they help you or help themselves?' 93 They will then be thrown into Hell with those who had gone astray 94 "And the whole hosts of Iblis together. 95 They will say while they dispute therein, 96 "We were clearly misguided 97 When we equalled you with the Lord of the worlds. 98 And none has brought us into error except the Mujrimun [Iblis (Satan) and those of human beings who commit crimes, murderers, polytheists, oppressors, etc.]. 99 So now we have no intercessors 100 and no sincere friend. 101 O that we might return again, and be among the believers!' 102 In this there is evidence (of the truth), but many of them do not have any faith. 103 And most surely your Lord is the Mighty, the Merciful. 104
