Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the winds sent forth in swift succession, 1 And those raging swiftly; 2 Consider these [messages] that spread [the truth] far and wide, 3 And those [angels] who bring criterion 4 by those who bring down the reminder, 5 excusing or warning, 6 Surely that which ye are promised will befall. 7 So when stars are effaced. 8 And when the heaven is rent asunder, 9 And when the mountains are blown away; 10 And when the messengers are brought unto their time appointed - 11 to what day shall they be delayed? 12 To the Day of Decision. 13 And what will explain to thee what is the Day of Sorting out? 14 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 15 Did We not destroy many a nation of the earlier times? 16 So shall We make later generations to follow them. 17 [for] thus do We deal with such as are lost in sin. 18 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 19 Did We not create you of a mean water, 20 which We placed within a sure lodging 21 For a known period (determined by gestation)? 22 We determined; excellent determiners are We. 23 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 24 Have We not made the earth a repository 25 Of the living and the dead? 26 and have We not set on it proud, firm mountains, and given you sweet water to drink? 27 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 28 Proceed to that which you denied. 29 Depart unto the shadow three branched: 30 that will offer no [cooling] shade and will be of no avail against the flame 31 that shoots sparks like dry faggots, 32 As though they were camels yellow tawny. 33 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 34 On that Day they will be speechless, 35 Nor will it be permitted for them to make an excuse. 36 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 37 This is the Day of Decision, We have assembled both ye and the ancients. 38 So if you have any ploy, try it against Me! 39 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 40
