The people of Lut rejected the messengers. 160 When their brother Lot said to them, "Will you not fear Allah? 161 I am for you an honest Messenger. 162 Have fear of God and obey me. 163 And I ask of you no hire therefor; my hire is but with the Lord of the worlds. 164 Why do you go for males unlike all other creatures 165 leaving your wives that your Lord created for you? Nay, but you are a people of transgressors. 166 They said: "If thou desist not, O Lut! thou wilt assuredly be cast out!" 167 He said, “I am disgusted with your works.” 168 "My Lord! Save me and my family from what they do." 169 We therefore rescued him and his entire family. 170 Except one old woman, who stayed behind. 171 then We totally destroyed the rest, 172 and We sent upon them a rain, an evil rain that fell on those who had been warned. 173 Surely in this there is a sign: but most of them would not believe: 174 And verily thy Lord! He is the Mighty, the Merciful. 175
