The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

Woe to every scorner and mocker 1 Who pileth up wealth and layeth it by, 2 thinking that his wealth will make him live forever! 3 By no means. He will be thrown into Hutama. 4 Would that you knew what hutamah is! 5 (It is) the Fire of (the Wrath of) Allah kindled (to a blaze), 6 Which mounts directed at the hearts. 7 closed around them 8 in its long columns of flames. 9

God the Almighty always says the truth.
