Truly it is the revelation of the Lord of all Being, 192 the Faithful Spirit has brought it down 193 Upon your heart, for you to convey warning. 194 In plain Arabic language. 195 And verily, [the essence of] this [revelation] is indeed found in the ancient books of divine wisdom [as well]. 196 Is it not a sign to them that the learned men of the Israelites know it? 197 And had We revealed it unto any of the non-Arabs, 198 And he had recited it to them, and they had not believed (it would have been different). 199 In this wise have We made way for it into the hearts of the culprits. 200 They will not believe in it until they see the painful punishment. 201 It will come upon them suddenly when they are not expecting it. 202 Then will they say: "Can we be given respite?" 203 Do they wish to hasten Our punishment? 204 Hast thou then seen, if We content them for (long) years, 205 And then there came to them that which they were promised? 206 of what avail to them will be all their past enjoyments? 207 Never a city We destroyed, but it had warners 208 As a reminder; and never have We been unjust. 209 And the satans have not brought it down. 210 they are not supposed to do so. Nor do have they the ability for such a task. 211 indeed they are debarred from overhearing it. 212 So call on no other god but God, lest you are condemned to torment; 213 And warn thy clan, thy nearest kin. 214 And lower your wing to those who follow you of the believers. 215 then, if they disobey thee, say, 'I am quit of that you do.' 216 Put thy trust in the All-mighty, the All-compassionate 217 Who observes you when you rise (to pray) 218 And (seeth) thine abasement among those who fall prostrate (in worship). 219 Indeed only He is the All Hearing, the All Knowing. 220 Should I tell you to whom the satans come? 221 They descend on every lying, wicked person, 222 (Into whose ears) they pour hearsay vanities, and most of them are liars. 223 And the poets - [only] the deviators follow them; 224 Have you not seen that they wander distract in every valley, 225 And how they say that which they do not? 226 Save those who believe and do good works, and remember Allah much, and vindicate themselves after they have been wronged. Those who do wrong will come to know by what a (great) reverse they will be overturned! 227
