The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the heaven is sundered. 1 And listens and obeys its Lord, and it must do so; 2 And when the earth shall be stretched forth. 3 And has cast out all that was in it and became empty, 4 And obeys its Lord and it must. 5 O man, indeed you have to surely run towards your Lord, and to meet him. 6 Then he who is given his Record in his right hand, 7 will be easy, 8 and will return rejoicing to his family. 9 But as for those whose Book of records will be given behind their backs, 10 shall call for destruction 11 And enter into burning fire. 12 Indeed, he had [once] been among his people in happiness; 13 for, behold, he never thought that he would have to return [to God]. 14 Yes! Verily, his Lord has been ever beholding him! 15 I swear by the afterglow of sunset, 16 And [by] the night and what it envelops 17 And by the moon when it is at the full, 18 Ye shall surely travel from stage to stage. 19 So what is [the matter] with them [that] they do not believe, 20 and when the Koran is recited to them they do not bow? ۩ 21 Nay, but those who disbelieve will deny; 22 And Allah well knows what they conceal in their hearts. 23 Hence, give them the tiding of grievous suffering [in the life to come] 24 Except those who believe and do good; for them is a reward that shall never be cut off. 25
