And lo! it is a revelation of the Lord of the Worlds, 192 With it came down the spirit of Faith and Truth- 193 Upon your heart, for you to convey warning. 194 in clear Arabic speech. 195 And indeed, it is [mentioned] in the scriptures of former peoples. 196 Is not the fact (that the Israelite scholars already knew about the Quran through their Book) sufficient evidence for the pagans of the truthfulness (of the Quran)? 197 And even if We had revealed it to one among the foreigners 198 In order that he read it to them, even then they would not have believed in it. 199 In this wise have We made way for it into the hearts of the culprits. 200 They will not believe in it until they see the grievous Penalty; 201 But the (Penalty) will come to them of a sudden, while they perceive it not; 202 And they will say, "May we be reprieved?" 203 Would they (now) hasten on Our doom? 204 Just think: If We let them enjoy (the good things of life) for a few years more, 205 Then there comes to them that with which they are threatened, 206 They would not be availed by the enjoyment with which they were provided. 207 Never a city We destroyed, but it had warners 208 To remind, and We are never unjust. 209 No evil ones have brought down this (Revelation): 210 neither are they worthy of it, nor are they capable of it, 211 Verily far from hearing are they removed. 212 So call not thou unto another god along with Allah, lest thou be of the doomed. 213 And warn thy clan, thy nearest kin. 214 And lower thy wing (in kindness) unto those believers who follow thee. 215 Then if they disobey thee, say: "I am free (of responsibility) for what ye do!" 216 Have trust in the Majestic and All-merciful God, 217 Who sees you when you arise 218 And thy movements among those who fall prostrate. 219 Verily! He, only He, is the All-Hearer, the All-Knower. 220 Shall I inform you upon whom the devils descend? 221 They descend upon all sinful self-deceivers 222 They incline their ears, and most of them are liars. 223 And the astray follow the poets. 224 Did you not see that they keep wandering in every valley? 225 and say things which they do not act upon, 226 Not so the true believers who do good works and remember God with fervour and defend themselves only after they are wronged. The wrongdoers will soon know how evil a turn their affairs will take. 227
True are the words of God the Almighty.
